Otterbox Reflex iPhone 4 Case (Review)
The new Reflex case from Otterbox is a two-piece hardshell design. The case appears to be somewhere between the company’s light-weight silicone Impact series and the more rugged Commuter case in the protection arena. The case offers hardshell protection with some interesting rubber impact zones. Otterbox says the design is inspired by crumple zone car protection, allowing the case to take a hit without delivering the full blow to the phone. The Otterbox Reflex is available in Black (pictured), Pink, Green, and Blue. It retails for .95. www.otterbox.com

@wwwinsanelygreatmac Can you tell me what the third pary screen protector brand was that worked with the reflex case?
hey mike, does this case scratch the back of the iphone?
I just bought this for my iPhone 4S but the plastic doesn’t fit perfectly and the white silicone gets dirty sooo easily -_-
what about protection if its dropped on the face
but it would crack if fell face first right?
@ingabingalinga It’s already pretty well known that Sprint offers the iPhone…
does it scratch the back of the phone at all?
is this thicker then the incase slider for the iphone 4? someone please answer!
Yes this case is great. You can take off the bottom to charge it on a dock. Worth 44.99 but I got mine free because sprint messed up my order ( yes iPhone is now on sprint)
Does this case hav a rubbery inside or it is just plastic? I just don’t want it to scratch up my phone.
Will it fit with a full body shield on?
@wwwinsanelygreatmac hi which in your opinion is better defender or this thanks
what kind of screen protector is that on your iphone?
this case scratches my iphone 4 on the back. not cool.
How much grip does this case have?
its a little stiff….. THATS WHAT SHE SAID!
@wwwinsanelygreatmac how do u get to reveiw and keep the stuff they send u for free
Display I mean, oops.
@DunkrusRS – Easy, I’m a klutz and as much as I love the retina display of my phone, all it would take is one drop from any other case onto my ceramic tile floor to turn my pretty unprotected display into a cracked mess. So yes, it does take away SOME of the beauty, but at the same time it still looks great, better than most other phones, and I know that even if/when I DO drop it, which I’ve done a few times now, my phone is going to stay in stellar condition. That’s worth more to me than hav
Really impressed with the review on this, I was just coming in for a quick comparison, but your review was well thought out, you didn’t run on too much and the end comparison was great. I have the defender and was looking at the Reflex for an alternative case because, well, there’s lots of frustrating bits with the defender. Seeing the line-up side by side it shows that if I want to take a step down, it would have to be to the Commuter, rather than the Reflex. Know that this review really, R
@omfgwtfisthis26 why buy defender for iphone 4… that case kills the ‘retina’ display. most screen protecters do.
I’ve had this case for a week now, and I can thoroughly recommend it. It feels solid, is pretty much unobtrusive insofar as it doesn’t add too much bulk to the phone and the screen protector which is provided is so much better than the Zagg which I had fitted before.
If you’re unsure, well I say go for it. It may cost £29.99 but it’s a small price to pay to protect your iphone4.
i have a white defender case it looks fucking epic and it would survive a fucking bomb its so fucking great look how fucking much im fucking swearing fucking fuck
The Commuter would offer no where near the amount of impact absorption that the Reflex has. And I’ve seen a lot of gaps in the Commuter where the plastic section meets with the silicone, particularly at the top and bottom.
I’d rate the Reflex above the Commuter in terms of protection, and Otterbox themselves prove that. Where you might be mislead is that the Commuter has covers for the dock port and the headphone jack. Big deal. The Reflex doesn’t have the looseness in the silicone that the Commuter has above and below the plastic on the sides, because it’s one piece.
