The firm was established in Kyoto about 280 years ago.It started in a shop in the center of Kyoto at Teramachi and Nijo streets, dealing in tea, tea containers and ceramics. About 160 years ago it received the name Ippodo from Prince Yamashina and from that time has only dealt in teas from Uji.
The store is beautiful and the staff is friendly. On a visit in 2002, we bought some green tea to take home and since then have been ordering it through Ippodo’s on-line shop.

Had a lot of fun at the shoot with Photographer Scott Lanes… althought it was one of the coldest nights! good thing he has a studio with an extra heater!! lol I was just snapping some shots while he set up the next one… i will have photos from the shoot next week some time… 
some of them came out really nice!
