Why We Fight: The Battle of Britain – WW2 Documentary US Government Film (1943)
DVD: www.amazon.com thefilmarchive.org The Battle of Britain was the fourth of Frank Capra’s Why We Fight series of seven propaganda films, which made the case for fighting and winning the Second World War. It was released in 1943 and concentrated on the German bombardment of the United Kingdom in anticipation of Operation Sea Lion, the planned Nazi invasion of Great Britain. The episode has been criticized for an anti-Polish bias. The bias is a result of propaganda justifying the Western Allies’ alliance with the Soviets; as Soviets had to be portrayed as the „good guys“, the Allies who were unsympathetic towards Soviets, such as the Poles, were misportrayed or simply ignored. Thus in this episode the map of Europe shown, amazingly, shows half of Poland free (to avoid mentioning Soviet annexation of Polish territories following Soviet invasion of Poland), repeats Nazi propaganda false claims about the Polish Airforce being destroyed on the ground (contrasting it with the correct fact that the RAF was not destroyed), and ignores the significant Polish participation in the battle of Britain (support of Polish pilots from No. 303 Polish Fighter Squadron and other units was widely discussed in Britain at the time this propaganda piece was filmed). Why We Fight is a series of seven propaganda films commissioned by the United States government during World War II to demonstrate to American soldiers the reason for US involvement in the war. Later on they were also shown to the …

@chevyking10 Britons have got the heroic actions of the mighty RAF to thank for not speaking German. But we do thank the Americans for helping us win the war.
WDF
lol at 27:12 a man takes cover in the tardis( I KNOW THAT THEY USED THEM BACK THEN AND IM NOT STUPID!)
You know what, I think britons should thank Americans because they saved them not to speak German oh by the way I heard that the queen of the UK originally is German. What a shame!
hiya is ja cool
FAKE U.S. PROPAGANDA.
BRITAIN IS BEST.
mmh ich wiege 300 kilo
@SuperLittleHelper I’m not doing an engineer degree, not history. I’m not going to sit at my computer and read wikipedia all day.
KOSOVO IS SERBIA!
Nothing has more courage and bravery, then a british person.
I agree that without US help we would have eventually lost, but america first needed a britain to help, without us going alone during the battle of britain there would have been nothing to defend. i persoanlly tfeel that had us brits fallen during this time, so too would have the USA because the largest navy, royal navy and the frendh navy would have been in the hands of the germans, plus the japanese navy, would have collectively wiped out the USA.
@bulldogEK1 i actually think this kind of reluctance towards the free information and its potential to educate yourself ( of course parallel to classic education ) is a bit scary and numb. history is written by the perceived victors, if you want real education based on the truth, you need that kind of free information via internet, not only classical education and degrees of a university.
@bulldogEK1 thats reasonable… but then you should not pretend you knew about that topic, while accusing others not to know anything, do you ?
@SuperLittleHelper i dont look up obesity figures in my spare time
@bulldogEK1 how are you getting up to date information on obesity from books of your university?? jesus…. we are living in the age of digital information. Google not less than a „light-speed“ library for all kinds of information. Of course there is a lot of BS on the internet, but i guess you should trust the data from the world health organization… i mean it is not like the old books got their information out of their hat, they probably had to ask those kind of organizations as well.
@SuperLittleHelper haha i don’t trust any of those i trust books from my university
@SuperLittleHelper anyway those data is coming from the World Health Organization. you may not trust them, but which data you trust? lol
@bulldogEK1 ? google is an instrument. should i laugh now that you trust your newspaper or teachers? you are funny.
@SuperLittleHelper you are trusting google hahaha oh dear
@bulldogEK1 well i got all that you listed. where is the problem?
@bulldogEK1 ha got you on the obesity thing. google: obesity globalpost
Greece and UK are the fattest in EU. Not that i care much about it, but thats a fact. Another thing YOU did not know about your own country.
I agree on generalization, its bullshit, but if one starts shooting them out, i will counter them wholeheartedly.
@SuperLittleHelper Does saying all this about EU get you a fit girlfriend or good salary, or get into good uni.. didnt think so. Guess I am better than you.
@SuperLittleHelper actually why would it matter to me either. Doesn’t mean you’ll have a better life than me in Germany in fact you know nothing about me. And you have made a massive generalization haha if you look at German diet compared to British I’m sure you will see that you Germans have a higher obesity, you still know nothing about UK. And your country didn’t fuck up congrats and you contributed to that how..?
@bulldogEK1 why should i care about ww2 ? thats long time ago. face the facts of today ! your country is a shame to europe. fat, poor, uneducated and inefficient, probably just like you.
and why should i be mad ? i am glad that i am german and not english. i guess you did not notice that your country is going down the drain right now and does not even have anything to say in europe, rightfully so, or should i quote sarkozy (to cameron) : „shut up“
@bulldogEK1 nothing wrong in quoting myself if it is an addition.
i probably know more about your country than yourself, judging from the words you use it is not hard to estimate your ( low ) intelligence and knowledge.
i dont care about your understanding, i just condense my sentences here in the limited space of YT comments. you are not even able to google for whats going on with the scottish independence movement.
