350 EARTH @ Dominican Republic

In Dominican Republic hundreds of people in white gathered to raise their voices and commitment to the climate crisis. The message conveyed was the threat of sea level rise to an island nation as Dominican Republic and was part of one of the 350 EARTH events happening worldwide, a week before the climate negotiations. This day, November 21st, will always be remembered as the day that Dominicans came together for Planet Earth, our only home.

Delta del Ebro — Citizens from the Delta del Ebro region joined renowned urban-artist Jorge Rodriguez-Gerada to form a giant representation of the face of a young girl who wishes to see the Delta survive the threat of climate change.

The art is one of several major public art installations in over a dozen locations across the planet that will be photographed by satellites 400 miles above the Earth’s surface this November 20-27 as part of a planetary scale art project, 350 EARTH, led by author Bill McKibben and international climate campaign 350.org.
