Kobe Bryant 2010 Playoffs: Gm 6 vs. Suns, 37 pts
PHOENIX — Kobe Bryant is again showing the world what postseason greatness can be. Bryant and his Los Angeles Lakers are in the NBA finals for the third straight season after he wrapped up a magnificent Western Conference finals with a 37-point performance in a series-clinching 111-103 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Saturday night. „Kobe’s so good, “ teammate Lamar Odom said, „he makes incredible normal for us.“ Ron Artest added 25 points as the Lakers held off a late Phoenix rally to win the series 4-2. The Lakers and Celtics, the NBA’s premier teams for much of the league’s history, will meet in the finals for the 12th time with Game 1 Thursday night in Los Angeles. They are the NBA champions each of the last two years — Boston beat the Lakers two years ago, and Los Angeles topped Orlando last season. „We’ll see how much we matured,“ Bryant said. „They challenged us extremely well in the finals a couple years ago. Now is a chance to see how much we’ve grown.“ Bryant scored nine points in the final 2 minutes, including what looked like an impossible 23-footer with Grant Hill in his face and 34 seconds to play. The basket put Los Angeles up 107-100 and the scrappy Suns were finished. „Those aren’t shooters shots, they’re scorers shots,“ Phoenix’s Steve Nash said. „Those are best-player-in-the-game type shots.“ Bryant will be in his seventh NBA finals in search of his fifth championship — five more than regular season MVP LeBron James, who can only sit and watch …

@Karma2Die4 That’s the stupidest argument I’ve ever heard. George Mikan and Dolph Schayes were the best players of their time. Would you rather have them or Dwight Howard and Kevin Durant? You have to admit, players have gotten better over time, no matter what gauge you’re using.
This was better than Lebrons Detroit piston game my opinion
Also, most people forget that Kobe’s performance very likely saved Sasha Vujacic’s life.
This is like a video game. Kobe was playing in God Mode.
pause at 2:01
@hakola95 bird was a better shooter magic could score he just didn’t magic is the greatest passer the league has ever seen yet you say bird was a better passer lol wow. just because he was the great white hope doesn’t make sport illustrated right lol. look magic was a better rebounder defender and passer you can debate scoring you are really funny tho. magic is the greatest player ever who other than him could or can play 1-5. and as a rookie won final not league but finals mvp
Kobe’s last shot was very similar to his 4 point play against denver. It wasn’t a 3pt shot so kobe added a pump fake to drain his momentum just to even out the difficulty lol.
2:00 THAT is what you call RANGE
@ijusttellthetruth1 Actually, BIrd was drafted in 1978. Just fixing your error.
@TheGamer32121 No, not really. Kobe has hit more difficult shots than Jordan did. I think, though, that Jordan also took fewer crazy shots because he was the better overall player and definitely the better team player.
@amunrahII Unfortunately, you are the one who clearly doesn’t know your NBA history. Bird was almost a unanimous choice for Rookie of the Year. He won three MVPs before Magic even had one. In only his second season he was being hailed as the best overall player in the NBA (check Sports Illustrated article). By 1986 Bird was already being called the best player of all time (again, check the Sports Illustrated article). Bird was the better scorer, rebounder, shooter, defender, AND passer.
6:12 Kobe’s shot made the commentator cum
Lol „yeah i played pretty good“
@streethustla24 hahaha really man? wow
@streethustla24 cool story bro
start timing at 57.1 seconds when lamar touched the ball, then stop at 49 seconds when pass the line. thats 8.1 seconds.
i think that was 8 seconds on lamar
Kobe’s tap on Gentry was an epic moment.
one of the greatest of alltime a better comparison is kareem for their longevity and consistancy
yeah kobe was great, but how about marv albert starting to choke on those last few words of the video man?? lol he dosnt have that stamina no more
@PeruvianCactus (Cont) With MJ having larger hands than Kobe, it allowed for MJ to have an advantage in control and creativity with the ball and as far as a defender goes, Kobe is still good enough to be one of the greats, Kobe is a tremendous defender, period. Your belief that MJ played against better players is disturbing at best and I suggest you reassess the two eras MJ played vs the 4 Kobe played in. Also, I would take Magic, Bird, Dr J (Who Mikey tried to be like) and Kobe anyday…
@PeruvianCactus MJ may stand out for you, however, he doesn’t for me and its your right to think so. I believe that Kobe has gone up against more talented, bigger and faster players than MJ ever dared to play against. MJ played against smaller guards (like Magic, Magic was the tallest point guard ever in the game) MJ recieved MORE calls from the refs than any other player in history (I would have loved to see MJ played without those calls) and (most importantly) MJ has larger hands than Kobe.
@Karma2Die4 Yeah but Micheal pretty much stands out, he performed better than Kobe consistently with a better efficiency defending better against better players in times were you had to play less physical by rule. There is no ONE greatest, but when it comes to naming anyone as great as MJ only 2 players come to mind, Bird and Magic.
To all the SUNS fans #EATIT! #LAKERSALLDAY! Kobe Goes in on yall asses every year! Pause.
i guarantee kobes challenge mode on the whatever 2k its on will be the hardest ever outside of maybe wilt
