Entry from: Beijing, China Entry Title: „Someone stole the Communism from Beijing“ Entry: „Saturday 31st October .We arose at 11am from an awful night wedged onto a single bed in our windowless cell room. We packed up and headed to get some Chinese RMB ( Yuan) from an exchange beaureau nearby and then had some breakfast/brunch before heading to Hung Hom railway to catch the train to Beijing at 3pm. We passed through immigration and were on our train and were pleasantly surprised to find we had the 4 berth cabin to ourselves. |Such luxury after India with sheets, doona and pillows on the beds. Also a small table and jug to refill with boiling water at the end of the carriage.To top it off a small TV at the end of each bed to watch!! Wow. So in comfort we crossed out of Hong Kong and into mainland China. There was a diining car and we had a meal there were also trolleys offering drinks and meal packs which we had for dinner. The meal of rice, chicken, veges and a salted boiled egg was fine though Wayne passed on the egg to me and mixed with rice was tasty. We had a very nice sleep in our cosy cabin having watched the scenery before sunset of extremely smoggy countryside and farms between massive tower blocks of flats in the towns. Sunday 1st November.
