Jean Cocteau & The Group of six
Jean Cocteau and the group of six – Excerpt from the Comic Operetta Les Maries De La Tour Eiffel. In 1920s Paris, the Group of Six were enjoying a certain amount of notoriety. They were an ensemble of talented musicians, responsible for many innovative and charismatic performances, particularly at La Salle Huyghens in Montparnasse. At least five of them got together with Jean Cocteau to create this spectacular. This sequence was put together from material salvaged from a clearout of the library at the Institute Francais in Glasgow some years ago.

Yes Erik Satie was closely associated with Le groupe des six, on my page – Erik Satie et le Groupe des Six en vidéo – on website : blog.erik-satie. comm – Virgil Thomson said in French : Satie was the father of the group, the link. You seem like Satie and this group, if you have time don’t hesitate to join me on the Erik-Satie’s web site I need help for the english side of this site.
@paprikadefrance
You’re right; I was amiss not to mention Erik Satie, although not an official member of the group, he was certainly closely associated with them. And of course having a Scottish mother, he was obviously destined to be a genius!!
Don’t forget the master Erik Satie, not for „Les mariés de la Tour Eiffel“ but for the „Groupe des six“
see the web site of erik-satie
Glad you appreciate it.
