  1. So easy a girl can do it too! I just finished on my Lexus headlights (I believe they are glass; so if you are concerned that it wouldn’t work on glass like I was, be assured that it does work). I was concerned that it only worked on plastic, but it worked! Thanks 3M!

  3. @billythefat
The kit can be used on tail lights as well as headlight lens covers.

  4. @Ikedood
The kit will do only two lenses. Since most vehicles have two lenses, you will need to purchase a kit for each vehicle.

  5. @fhussain44
The kit comes with a disc holder. You do not need to purchase a separate adapter.

  6. is the performance finish a uv protectant coating like originally on headlights and will it last as long as the original headlight uv protectant did from factory.

  7. I bought this kit and did all this today. It works!! Might headlights are fully restored like brand new!!

  8. @mrflip1000 The pad lasted but I noticed the 3000 green pad broke down a small amount and started to come apart so be sure to keep it WET, the final polish pad worked a long time without a hitch, I kept going back to rebuff and it held up fine.
P.S I never got a lot of loading on the first two pads 500/800 and had leftovers when the project was complete….. thanks 3M ,-)

  9. I watched this bought a 3M kit, working on 15 year old Ford Bronco headlights so you can imagine how yellow they had digressed to. Great product the headlights are as good as factory new……
We came, we saw, we conquered! Follow the instructions „No Worries“ DON’T slow the pad down KEEP IT MOVING @ ALL TIMES and you’ll finish like a pro, and be sure to WET the 3000 green pad and the headlight as you proceed from time to time, have fun enjoy your clear headlights…. Thanks 3M ,-)

We suggest using 3M™ Performance Finish, part number 39030(pint) or 38112(gallon).

  11. @n00b3rt
Don’t try to rush the process by using too much pressure.

  12. @ELINDOOR510
Yes unless solvents in the paint have etched into the plastic.

  13. @mrflip1000
One kit will do one pair of headlights.

  14. 3:04 Oooo Weee… What Up with That? What up with that?

  15. I used this kit on the headlights of my 1990 Mustang and was amazed with the finished product. They look like brand new headlights. This kit really does work, just be patient and take your time.

  18. @ProLifeBryce -Perhaps the lenses have had condensation on the inside of the lens covers? That would require you to follow a similar procedure on the inside of the lens instead…

  19. Do the pads last enough to do 2 headlights. i,e. do I buy one kit for both headlights??

  20. i bought this kit, and it works wonders!!! only problem is i need a refill of the sanding pads! i bought this kit after i had severely burned the top layer of plastic on my trucks headlights by putting people sunblock on them, thinking it would protect from the sun….DONT ever do this! i didnt think it would ever damage the lens. so, with a little presanding with 320 grit, then the pads in this kit, i brought my dead headlights back as good as before!!! this thing works!

  21. I previously tried a hand sanding headlight restoration kit and it only helped a bit on my ’99 Passat– then they fogged up again. Today, I used this product and now the headlights truly are like new. Followed the clear instructions carefully. (They tell you longer is better during two of the four steps. If I were using this repeatedly, I might experiment with a little shorter sanding times, but even „going long,“ the whole process was under an hour and the result was perfect.)

  22. I took my car to a bodyshop for a new paint coat and a lil paint got on my tail lights do you think that by using this Headlight Restoration kit could or would get rid of the lil paint dots on the surface of the lenses?

  23. I just purchased this product (wasn’t sure if I needed one or two, so I grabbed two just incase) and I was wondering if it would be OK to use a drill at a 750 rpm? I dont have another drill on hand and I just figured I would have to go over the lens for a bit longer due to the fact that the drill isn’t as fast as the minimum required drill speed. Before you say, „It’s not recommended“ I already know that, Im just asking if it will work if I sand a bit longer, thats all.

  24. @vampirefreak1123
It can be purchased at most auto retailers and online at shop3m.com and amazon.com

  26. @dontwalkhand does IDRIVE on the 525i 2005 bring navigation?

  27. is that Arnold Schwarzenegger?

  28. I first used the BMW iDrive in a 5 series, and fell in love with it right away, Audi’s implementation of MMI is just ugly….BMW got it right, it is as easy to use as an iPod…I do not know what people are complaining about

  29. It’s not hard to use it’s just a complete pain to use while driving.
I’d rather have a knob or button for my AC vs digging though a menu.
I feel these type of things could cause traffic accidents.

  30. Idrive is by far the easiest shit ever to use! When I first drove my 5 off the lot it took me to two stop lights to figure it out. You really dont need a manual people damn

  31. ic why bmw is famous just like mercedes and audi

but when i see the bmw idrive seems hard to use , well i still love bmw i just think its hard

  32. there is no car with touch screen … the MB isn’t touch and the computer in it sucks…ugly | The BMW idrive is way more nice and looks expensive

  33. BMW ever!!!!!!

  34. because its hard to use, its slow, it takes 5 clicks to listen to a radio preset. Its sooo hard to use you shouldn’t use it while you are diving PERIOD. And this thing controls everything from your a/c, radio, nav. So you need to pull over if you need to use any of those things.

  35. Everyone knows that the Japanese make better navigation systems in their cars. And I am not being a hater here. Even the Honda Accord has a better one and they all have touch screen. The only downside to touchscreen is fingerprints.

  36. iDrive is revolutionary and totally easy to handle. My guess: You’re unable to cope with German cars and technology.

  37. i don’t get it
why do people hate the idrive?
    please tell??

  38. iDrive really does suck. I HATE IT AND ALL THE OTHER AUTO JOURNALISTS ABSOLUTELY DESPISE IT. And yes I own a BMW and hate that stupid iDrive. Touch screen is waaaay easier.

  39. ?????????????

  40. uberenthusiasts I’d love to see your flying dog

  41. i think that’s terrible! i really expected more from bmw….the set up in fords is WAY better than that

  42. I know it isn’t that hard to use, but it shouldn’t be difficult in the first place.

  43. Our 2005 Mercedes Benz S65 came equipped with COMMAND. It’s easy after about 2-3 weeks, but those who are technologically stupid, it’s like trying to teach a dog how to fly.

  44. Touch screens suck. You’ll love it when it stops responding to your finger inputs. Also, may sure you keep your eyes on the road.

  45. you’ll love that touch screen when it stops responding to your finger tips…

  46. Thats the problem with people. It isn’t a hard system to use. People just want things that are so simple babies can do it.

Guy with the lexus is case in point.

  47. This system is soooooo stupid!
Oh by the way, the manual is thicker than bible.

  48. this is cool i find idrive really easy and fun

  49. Lexus uses Touch Screen Navigation. I find that easier to use.

  50. iDrive is easy after just 2 weeks. Its nice, MMI is just as nice maybe even better.
