This Sculpture is inspired by The National Archives map collection. It reflects the motifs and drawings found in our oldest atlases.
The sculpture was created by people who benefit from the services of Workshop & Company, and organisation that provides support for people with experience of mental ill health. It was designed by Rosalie Harlock and other members of Workshop & Company.
The project was run in partnership with The National Archives and Workshop & Company.
Funded by The Heritage Lottery Fund.

The lottery (and other chance games like the Euromillions) in Portugal is run by the Holy Mercy (of the Catholic Church), and the lottery specifically is usually sold by retired people (who get a percentage of the sales). This gentleman is selling the lottery at the exit of the Baixa/Chiado subway station in Chiado.
