Konica Lexio 70

You won’t catch me disrespecting the Olympus mju/Stylus range which dominated the point n’ shoot market from 1991-20034, but I have a feeling his Konica Lexio 70 from 2000 is even better.
No bigger than a cigarette packet, but encased in metal, the Lexio is quite rugged but has some impressive technology including coloured LEDs in the viewfinder, backlight exposure compensation, dioptre correction and an amazing illuminated LCD. The wide-angle lens is a 28-70mm with "macro" ability – like rivals from Nikon and Minolta – but it’s better in low light, as the maximum aperture is an astonishing f/3.4.
I think the camera was priced at the high end of the point n’ shoot market when launched and Konica couldn’t compete with the marketing budgets of Canikon; a fact which arguably led to the company’s demise. The few reviews I’ve read are very favourable, so I’m keen to test this fairly rare model. I was lucky enough to find one in its original box, with instruction manual, soft case and wrist strap for just £4.99 inc. postage.

I’ve put up full specs on camerapedia.
