I thought it was a really good advert.
My Fifa World Cup 2010

A little mosaic of the action over the month of the Fifa World Cup in South Africa. Needless to say, if you missed it, you definately missed out! South Africa pulled off a flawless event, what Fifa has now described as a "Plan B" for any forthcoming nation should they encounter problems setting it up. On the 3rd of July the Cape Town fan walk (another first for World Cup events) pulled an all-time record crowd of over 300 000 fans, all peaceful and with no incident. Must say we are all proudly South African, and the handful of my friends and family that made it down from overseas were not wanting to leave after it was all done. Here’s looking forward to a successfull Olympic bid in future – and even though that will not have the same splendor and excitement that a soccer game brings, don’t miss it, it’s the best way to enjoy the "gees" that only Africa can provide. Many thanks to Jupiter who set up a huge screen at the office so we didn’t miss a thing and for the amazing final party at the River Club, Jamie and the management at Molobar for reserving us the best seats for a couple of games, Conrad for getting us past the line at the Brauhaus, Tash for the pit-stop at her flat right next to the stadium before and after the game, Hyundai for the giant vuvuzela, Andy for coming down for 2 nights visit and Cape Town for not clogging up the streets, a peaceful month of vuvuzela’s, a spectacular stadium and thousands of happy tourists. This was one of those once-in-a-lifetime events that pulled us all together and sucked our pockets dry. See you all at the Olympics
