Powerless – George The Poet
In a couple of hours, views I got one thousand but Somehow men think I’m now a speng ’cause my Lyrical sound got dumbed down again. Some now pretend that I’m down with them like I’m S’posed to be flattered „you run ’round with them?“ I ain’t gonna put my thumb down and send, I’m Shouting „What’s good?“ cah I’m practically Out of the hood and I ain’t gonna come ’round again. When I Blow you will never see my face again. I Hate the ends. I feel like the owner of Gucci working in H&M, I can’t say that I’m One of them patient men; I’m Trying to be ghosting the fastest, something like Nicholas Cage and most other artists. Home’s where the heart is? Cuz, I wear my heart on my Sleeve — everybody knows where my yard is. Can’t sound hard to believe; everybody knows I’m a parrers. I’ll only come back to go to the barbers ’cause I don’t wanna see these youths like most of our fathers. Carrying Food, loads of compartments, living in the grossest apartments, Still rolling up with holes in their garments. All of them are angry at me ’cause I’m so close to departing… See I said that I weren’t gonna dumb down the flow but Come on, I can’t be getting £1 a show. In ’0- 6 every man was like „I’m bound to blow“, But I never see gunpowder though Almost lost the game 1 round ago. I ain’t Harrison, hanging in till Round 4. I want a yard bigger than a real town hall but Top of the Grime ladder is still ground floor. Can’t even see if there’s no glass ceiling and Some of you ain’t doing it, no …
nice one mate
after reading the description, I think you know what you are talking about, unlike many others.
„If knowledge is power we’re bound to stay powerless.“

@Shawalin true, true, never hurt to hope. I guess the ‘hope’ element is more pertinent now you’ve changed the description in the box (which was more declaratory with a subtly didactic tone…well maybe not didactic but certainly written with conviction)
You probably hear it all the time, but LOVE your work! shall be looking forward to more – you have enough support from this end; the more controversial the better but know say my comments can be equally controversial

jump into the space and really accelerate the reversing trend.
Anyway, I liked the way it worked lyrically. More at the end than the beginning but the metre is really well orchestrated.
Hello George,
I think the idea behind this is really interesting, and is a constant dilemma in any case of any group of people who suffer prejudice in society. I do think there’s a balance though. Not everything can be put down to an inherent bias in society yet not everything can be put down to laziness. I do think that you’re right in suggesting that once society starts to open up (and it takes pioneers to force it to) part of the onus is on the victims of aforementioned prejudice to [cont'd]

Dope!
It takes educated people like u 2 speak their minds n give others hope fam, im proud of u (no homo!)… mayb goin bak the the ends n giving a talk about ur experiences while ur gettin ur hair cut is part of the solution.. What is making it?? The ability to leave the ends? Or the capacity to realise that the ends is not all there is? ‘Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today’ – El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz
