I respect the weight and importance of the two ideas conveyed here.
I am struck by the greater impact they have when conveyed together.
It seems we’re expected to hold one view, or the other. We have become a society of "Black or White":
"Us or them"
"You’re either with us or against us"
"Fight ‘em over there so we don’t fight ‘em over here"
As if life should be so simple as to offer only two, neat, tidy, polar-opposite, options.
Having an enemy who is the definition of evil does not automatically make one the definition of good.
There are still standards by which individuals, and actions, are measured.
The world is not only "Black or White."
