DVD: www.amazon.com thefilmarchived.blogspot.com John Ford (February 1, 1894 — August 31, 1973) was an American film director. He was famous for both his westerns such as Stagecoach, The Searchers, and The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, and adaptations of such classic 20th-century American novels as The Grapes of Wrath. His four Academy Award for Best Directors (1935, 1940, 1941, 1952) is a record, and one of those films, How Green Was My Valley, also won Best Picture. In a career that spanned more than 50 years, Ford directed more than 140 films (although nearly all of his silent films are now lost) and he is widely regarded as one of the most important and influential filmmakers of his generation. Ford’s films and personality were held in high regard by his colleagues, with Ingmar Bergman and Orson Welles among those who have named him as one of the greatest directors of all time. In particular, Ford was a pioneer of location shooting and the long shot which frames his characters against a vast, harsh and rugged natural terrain. John Ford began his career in film after moving to California in July 1914. He followed in the footsteps of his multi-talented older brother Francis Ford, twelve years his senior, who had left home years earlier and had worked in vaudeville before becoming a movie actor. Francis played in hundreds of silent pictures for Thomas Edison, Georges Melies and Thomas Ince, eventually progressing to become a prominent Hollywood actor-writer-director

  5. @Hperman09
Those who have a love for war know not of its reality

  6. @Mirkan361 I think you don’t understand the important of military tactics and effective way of fighting the best way as possible to win the war. Bombing the shit of a country such as the Korean War, Iraq War of 1991, Bosnian War, and Kosovo War, Iraq War, and Afghanistan actually achieves a lot of things including destroying large amount of military targets and not to mention it even demoralized and even weakened enemies forces. Air-support is very useful in a lot of things.

  7. @Hperman09 well the Air Force faced Chinese troops because a lot of them were brought in to free up NVA for operations down south and these guys were running SAM missiles etc..

  8. brainwash all over the place

  9. aMERICAN propaganda!

  10. North Korea is completely brainwashed and fake. They put on a show for tourist to hide their evil.

  11. @bmx098890 Communist China and North Korea, yes, but there’s this neo-McCarthyism fear of all forms of socialism that is rampant in (America’s, at least) today’s world. There is a difference between socialism, and corrupt, dictatorial, communism. For the most part, the Communist threat is over, but that doesn’t stop people from jumping on the socialist hating bandwagon to try and make a political point.

  12. @peterm3964 just because the cold war is over does not mean that communism still is not a threat to peace and the well being of society.

  13. @bmx098890 Ha Ha …you are so fifties . the cold war is over . time to get with the new phantom enemy .

  14. Are you a communist sympathizer or something?

  15. Korea is divided because the Chinese pigs sent millions of soldiers to invade South Korea.

  16. The ruthless red hand of communism ???. GIMME a break

  17. @mrzippoz Then again, China had the numbers on their side. As the Chinese made their first push to force the UN Armed Forces back, they just stormed the field. If you call that a good strategy, then I have to disagree. If not for their numbers, the UN (NOT only the US) would have, most likely, been able to hold their ground, thereby changing history. I have to agree with jxtsful: NK would have lost if not for China’s vast numbers.

  18. dude the US have awesome guns but guns can’t replace morale and the will to fight

american way to fight : bomb the shit out of a whole landscape
vietcong way to fight : tactics, traps, stealth, ambushes
they are clever like foxes and the americans don’t understand : bombing the shit out of a country doesnt achieve victory -.-

my grandpa fought in korea and i am proud of him
turkey sent 5000 soldiers there to support the koreans,he was one of them
he fought in the most important battles.

  19. @mrzippoz You’re an idiot, Korean War is a conventional war unlike the Vietnam War. Trust me, the U.S. have best fighting men in the world it’s just the politicians placing limits on them what they cannot or can do.

And the U.S. never faced Chinese troops in Vietnam, read some history.

the U.S. didn’t achieve some planned goals in both wars.

  20. @jxtsful eerr thanx to america just like vietnam irak afganistan somalia etc etc silly people…..

  21. @tristbjorn haha, well… wouldn’t Russia be America of Europe considering they are two great powers?
Well Britain isn’t too strong anymore and they don’t act like America, in terms of sending mass troops to global fronts.

  22. @jxtsful With all due respect, no country in the world would want an enemy satellite on their borders. For China, the existence of North Korea is necessary to act as a buffer zone between it and the Western powers, particularly the US. Would the US be comfortable if Russia had invaded Mexico and put in a puppet government under its control?

  23. @TheMrsuperman2000 usa and australia. always the same thing with you people.

  24. The usa could of won vietnam if they invaded north vietnam with 200,000 troops and took over the goverment in north vietnam

  25. The usa won the korean war in my opinion because south korea is free today …..that was the point to kick the north out of the south and the usa did it…. Usa wins
