01tech.net February 11th, 2008 – At the Northwest hub for Netflix in Lakewood, there’s a woman who’s making sure you get your DVDs sent to you in plenty of time. She processes 950 Netflix movies an hour.

Wait… wait… you didn’t communicate the price increase I thought you are the CEO. I thought you run the company and you are sorry that you didn’t know O_o face the fact you are not sorry. You just mad that you company is going down the drain. I changed to Blockbuster and I am loving it!!!! You get video games and also newer movies. Sure Blockbuster cost is a little bit more but it worst it.

I cant login either. I wanted to cancel my account, but it wont let me. So I tried calling but their phone # – it isnt working either! Help! They’ve got me by the balls and I cant do a thing!!!

we want Netflix called Netflix. Pay one company and get movies either DVD or streaming. Same company, one price, no confusing price structures.
Called Netflix when I heard of the price increase, spoke to C.S. he had no empathy whatsoever and basically told me to cancel if I wasn’t happy!!! I cancelled DVD. Figured I’d keep streaming (at least for now) till I woke up one day and a lot of my instant QUE dissapeared. I soon realized they yanked most of the streaming that I liked and moved em to DVD only! Not only did they have a 60% price increase for my package, but now expect me to pay more for less??? Both now cancelled
UNACCEPTABLE!
I was supportive at first because blu-rays cost more and dvd’s have special fatures ect. Since I only watch streaming it didn’t seem to effect me. Now however the streaming choices are abysmal. The only one who can feel satisfied is someone who watches several hours of Veggie Tales a day.
He says „We did it to privide the best service we possibly can“ BULL FUCKING SHIT. You did it so you can charge two fees instead of one because the billions you’ve made already isnt enough for you greedy fucks over there. Nobody understands it because it doesnt make any sense to anybody or benefit anybody but YOU and the moron sitting next to you.
Bad Move Reed! I immediately cancelled my DVD subscrition upon the news of your greedy price increase! I just cancelled my streaming as well last week. Bad enough you let greed motivate you but you should have taken care of your existing and loyal customers, by locking their rates. I’ve been upset with your decision since I heard your annopuncement. I’ve now moved on to Blockbuster and won’t look back!Good luck with your lousy decision and scrambling from here out, you’ll need it!!!!!

Although I’m not happy with Netflx and the way they have handled things, I’m more disgusted with the content providers and the ‘value’ they place on their content.I don’t have a problem with these guys making money, I just don’t agree with what they ask for.. quite sad really and out of touch with reality. As far as Netflix? they should have never made such a radical change but instead, should have gradually made increases.

@jdweick What does it mean to „run rickshaw“ over something? That’s one of the silliest eggcorns I’ve seen. The metaphor makes no sense because a rickshaw is a tiny one-passenger cart pulled by a single person, and the phrase doesn’t really sound like „run roughshod“ in the first place.

and this is why companies run rickshaw over us. People are afraid to take a stand. the service is worth what people are willing to pay, and for you its a drug your willing to spend more for. as for me i canceled, i want to send a message now that you can not treat customers this way. for netflix sadly its still a win less customers still more money incoming. so Dipshit gets to dance infront of his share holders. so until this moves actually costs them money then this will continue

@entropy44 Because the shipment fees would be outrageous if they outsourced the packaging department. And it would cost a lot of initial capital to get a machinedoing this, I don’t even know if it would be able to distinguish between the different titles or not.

@dullhammer While it’s good honest work, it’s nothing that’s going to keep a country going. I’d rather have manufacturing jobs. I miss working in factories and actually making something that earned this country money. Service jobs, while very important, are nothing more than an exchange of wealth… YOu pay me a dollar to shovel your side walk of snow, and I pay you a dollar to do mine. In the US, we’ve just created 2 dollars of net worth for the country…

Gotta do what you gotta do for your family. I’m out of work now and nobody is even given me a ring back. Looks as if I have to do 2 PT jobs to make up for 1 FT just to save the house and provide for my family. My wife just had surgery and shes been out of work for over a month now and I’m helping my stepson with going to and from school. Defiantly, bless these folks…as it’s a job…and there is not that many jobs out there right now…
