Google Chrome Cr-48 Laptop Video Hands-On
CIO.com senior writers Shane O’Neill and Al Sacco perform a quick video hands-on with the first Google Chrome OS laptop, the Cr-48.
Video Rating: 4 / 5
Twitter: twitter.com Site: stateofjailbreak.com Download Apple Safari www.apple.com Download Opera: www.opera.com Download Google Chrome: www.google.com Download Mozilla Firefox: www.mozilla.com Download Microsoft Internet Explorer: www.microsoft.com This is a test of each of the five main browsers, Firefox 3.5, Internet Explorer 8, Opera 10 (beta 3), Chrome 2 and Safari 4. None is the definite winner, however. For some, Safari’s speed and great looks will make it the best choice. For others, Chrome’s sleek interface and blazing speed will make it the best. You might like Firefox and it’s decent speed and fantastic add ons. Perhaps Opera and it’s uniqueness will suit you best? Or even IE 8 and it’s Accelerators and support for older web pages might be best for you. I tried not to focus only on speed like I did with my last test and include some more personal tests such as the interface, memory useage and ease of use. Hopefully you will find this video helpful!
vou ser sincero pra voces nao instelem ele ele ficando dando erro trava as vezes nao reconhece alguns drivers nao configura pppoe(quando vai configurar da erro) o kurumim é bem melhor que isso
I wish google had made the CR-48 available to buy…
nice laptop, bad OS. Get puppy Linux or Ubuntu and it would be great(and yes i know chrome rips off Ubuntu but chrome OS is still different)
i put windows 8 on mine
@talldude123 oh well then that’s not so bad.
@lilblake90 Yes, it would be possible…my netbook has the same specs, and it gets an easy 12 hour battery life on power save mode.
@talldude123 and it would still have 8 hours on it?
@lilblake90 You can get apps, or you could install Windows 7 on it.
@talldude123 yeah…there’s one major flaw to Chrome OS….no internet = you having a $500 peace of shit box that can do nothing.
1:32 ball squeak
use gaikai for games, it can play any games !!!
@talldude123 When you work in the cloud, you don’t need that many ports. However, not to brag, but my uMBP has Thunderbolt, USB, Firewire 400/800, SDCard, kensington lock, Ethernet, and a slot loading optical drive.
@UDEVINU250 Kinda the whole point of Chrome OS… It’s based on the web browser Chrome.
i LOVE how they ran out of legitimate things to say about it once it booted up.
you cnt download anything
no homepage/desktop???wtf
@carlosmashiado2 Compared to the MacBook, this laptop is a great value. I didn’t say this laptop would be a better value than an HP or Acer
@talldude123 For value? the chromebooks are like 500 dollars that is a 500 $ browser you can get a nice laptop like i don’t know a hp one with that where you can run this OS and any other like linux or windows or put 500 more and buy you a mac and run OS X chrome windows linux etc this a low cost pc with a high ass retail price sorry but that’s the true (sorry for any bad grammar i’m learning peace
@carlosmashiado2 For value this machine is so much better.
@talldude123 actually is not
@BensoftMedia Because this machine is better than the Macbook!
Very lacking in ports. My netbook is an Acer Aspire One, and it has VGA, HDMI, power in, SD reader, 3 USB ports, and kensington lock.
@MrDanteStylez another factor that plays against this crap…
@tchmotors nothing is saved in your hard-drive .. everything is saved in the internet..
How much space do they give you in the hard drive? 40 GB? not much more compared to an ipad I suppose
I don’t care if it’s brand new, or the complete revolution for computers, I don’t like it
come on Ubuntu, Windows and Mac, you have to kill the new neighbor
I’ve been using opera for almost a decade, and it’s always been my favorite.. I’ve tried every other one time and time again and they just don’t compare. I’m not saying they aren’t as fast or they don’t work as well.. But opera is just a level above the rest when it comes to being a a quality interface. Once you understand it and customize it the way you want there is no going back to other browsers. Opera has a bigger learning curve than the others, but its worth it without a doubt..
@thecannonball34 Firefox 8 is almost as chrome and has a better interface and is full customizable with more addons. i would choose Firefox
COMODO DRAGON, the new MONSTER browser, as fast as lightning
i cant decide between firefox or chrome
Thumbs up if you use Opera
each of the browsers has its main purpose:
- internet explorer- so people can install browsers
- safari- reading list for pc… default for mac
- firefox- fast and simple
- chrome- fast and very easy to use
its bad enough we have console wars… please do not start browser wars
paste this on every browser war video you see!
I used all this with massive open site at same time on win732bit, i stress all a lot
my personal renking is (for the last version avaiable at october 2011)
1-Opera
2-Chrome
3-Explorer
4-firefox
5-safari
I’m not fan of any, in O. i had a problem whit google+games, C. i had same crash and becomed slow with many open tab, E. not problem but poor of add and whit many tab opened become lazy, F. not fast and it had crash and long pause that freeze computer, safari very slow, and a lot of crash
Opera beats the shit out of every browser
Opera all the way, it’s super fast, very customizable and offers tons of flexibility. The only problem is that sometimes (not very often, but 0.01% of the time) a page isn’t compatible with Opera and I’ll need to use Chrome, which sometimes doesn’t work either. After that, my last resorts are Firefox and IE.
Okay everyone go and check out the awesomest new web browser. It kill’s internet explorer, and is on its way to beating others. Check it out h t t p : / / w w w . d o u b l e t a p p w e b b r o w s e r . w e b s . c o m

@attothegenius
holy shit! you just read my mind
@mastermagicfox look safari is used in mac ie in windows and firefox in linux so they are the main of an operating system which means they usually suck i now use google chrome opera is my second choice. and there are much more browser that are useful and nice besides these 5 like rockmelt, avant, maxthon, and many more.
@attothegenius why opera
i agree with i.E is worst than shit
but i think opera should before safari
b.s if you are some opera fan please dont replay i have no patience for what ever you thing about opera
IE is the best browser on fast computers but the slowest on slow and old computers
@attothegenius Correct!
FIRER FOX IS SO FAST!
@MastuhShayke you right, i used to have chrome before i gt windows 7 and it was fast as f u c k and when i got windows 7 i obvs had to download it again but i was told opera is the fastest so i downloaded that and i was not happy with the speed, chrome is the fastest by far,
i tried all 5 of them and opera in opinion is the best 11.50 is best the fastest ever
@MastuhShayke you seriously need to read your posts first
ie is the best…for getting different browsers
@anilotine good point sir
@anilotine After downloading the browsers then you do not need it anymore.
@Luelle18 Well you need IE to download the others. It’s great at that!
my crome crashed so try opera:P
@Luelle18 opera is shit r u kidding ie=shitty look non user friendly slow firefiox=good but so many addons to keep track of safari=its got a nice feel and user friendly but slow chrome= very fast apps themes user friendly and a better feel opera= has a couple things but is pretty slow its not that bad but the people who use it act like its way better than it is coming up with ideas first doesnt matter chrome made things better so stop being such a fanboy
