Susan Boyle duets with Elaine Paige December 2009 – „I know Him So Well“

Susan Boyle has recorded a duet with Elaine Paige for this weekend’s ITV1 special I Dreamed A Dream: The Susan Boyle Story. The pair sung ‘I Know Him So Well’ together, although Boyle is believed to have been unaware of the duet until shortly before the performance, the Daily Mail reports. Boyle said: „I never thought I would see myself standing on the same stage with such an icon from West End theatre, let alone singing with her as an equal.“ The Britain’s Got Talent runner-up told the panel that Paige was her inspiration during her first audition on the reality talent contest.

  1. im not a susan boyle fan and my music taste is completely different than this but this is really good. you can’t deny that she is a great singer.

  2. What a lovely version of this song!!

  3. @TheFakeyCakeMaker Listen to her Return or This Will Be The Year. They’re originals.

  4. It would be nice to hear SuBo do something original. To be fair the song’s so good you could sing it in dog barks and it would still be enjoyable.

  5. @donkeyassman Try good manners! That is the brave thing to do. Anyone can hind behind the net. Can you sing better if so why not make a video and put it up?

  6. i don`t like it !!!!!!!!

  7. I don’t mind cover versions but sorry, this just doesn’t work. If you want to listen to cover versions with a degree of excellence listen to the Ahk-toong Bay-bi Covered CD (U2′s classic album )given away free with the December issue of Q magazine!

  8. @beppenel I agree! Brilliant version……I’m a DM fan too. Some peeps on here just need to get over themselves :)

  9. I came in not expecting much but being a huge DM fan. This is actually REALLY good.

  10. @cullyvan

Constipation can be painful. Try a Draino enema.

  11. @cullyvan Subject versaltility: Let’s see – Musical Theatre, Gospel, Country,Hymnal, Ballad, American Song Book,Belters, Rolling Stones, Crowded House, Depeche Mode, Tears for Fears, Paolo Nutini and very likely light Opera – given the chance. Just how versatile do you want her to be?

  12. VERY GOOD :)

  13. Fair do’s, as a Depeche Mode fan, I actually laughed when I saw the title and thought „Oh boy, here we go!!!“.

She actually did quite a good job of it.

  14. @cullyvan Hahaha. No, we are not from the same planet. I’m from planet Earth and you are from planet „I hate Simon Cowell so hate anything ralated to him“ or maybe from planet „Why Susan Boyle is loved by so many and I’m not“. What it’s a shitty ballad for you is a beautifull song for many others. Nothing you can do about it. Not even your youtube’s rants will change it. Kind regards,

  15. @Oropas123 in what way is she versatile ? Every song she does is a shitty ballad. what are you talking about ? are we from the same planet ? Where people actually are capable of using their own minds ? THE VOCAL IS TIMESTRETCHED AND SLOWED DOWN. THEY DIDNT EVEN HAND IT TO A DECENT SOUND ENGINEER TO WORK WITH IT. .and still they fall for it.

  16. @Oropas123 Then Im happy for you. You fell for the whole personality cult invented by simon cowell. Its another shitty ballad in a world of shitty ballads. This sort of drivel is killing music.

  18. She sang this beautifully on Children in Need. What has happened to her voice on this version it sounds terrible.

  19. @cullyvan Hello – I just got this CD because I listened to the tracks and I found the whole CD to be amazing. So I will count myself among the people buy Susan Boyle CD’s because I love music, I love her voice and her versatility.
How long it took the session musicians to bang this out,? Who cares? The result pleases me as her voice sounds so young and haunting. I heard her singing this song live a couple of weeks ago and I liked it even more.

  20. There are people who love music – and people who buy it because of the perceived personality , for christmas presents and to fill a hole in their CD rack. I’ll leave it up to you who this is aimed at. Her voice has been slowed down so much here she sounds drunk.

  21. This is very bad. You can actually hear the timestretch in her voice, not sure of the factor. It probably took the session musicians about an hour to bang this out. The drums are possibly a loop, no great variation at all – or possibly a simple midi pattern with half notes bunged in at the end of the bridge. Its fucking drivel, theres no effort gone into this at all.

  22. DON’T READ THIS CAUSE IT REALLY WORKS. YOU WILL GET KISSED ON THE NEAREST FRIDAY BY THE LOVE OF YOUR LIFE. TOMORROW WILL BE THE BEST DAY OF YOUR LIFE. HOWEVER IF YOU DONT POST THIS COMMENT TO OVER 3 VIDEOS OR YOU DIE WITHIN 2 DAYS. NOW THAT YOU STARTED READING THIS DONT STOP. THIS IS SCARY. POST THIS TO OVER 5 VIDEOS IN 143 MINUTES WHEN YOUR DONE PRESS F6 AND YOUR CRUSHES NAME WILL APPEAR ON THE SCREEN IN BIG LETTERS. THIS IS SO SCARY BUT REALLY WORKS

  23. @riotpooffairy

A Draino enema will help you with your ear problem.

  24. I never thought I’d hear this hallmark song by DM interpreted in this way…a different approach to the faster bpm we are used to…Martin’s emotive lyrics perhaps get more reflection from a slower bpm, maybe…a nice approach and refreshing choice for a cover…electro gets orchestration and full backing vox…cool!

  25. She is good, but DM is better; they are gods!!!
